Matlacha Charters & Tours Reviews

I just wanted to thank you for a great fishing trip. Didn't catch as many as we would have liked (isn't that always the case ;) )but had a great time. My parents and my aunt and uncle thoroughly enjoyed the morning and I appreciate your patience with all of us. It was a great way to spend my dad's birthday. Pam

Had a great day fishing with Captain Rick yesterday. Caught a 35" cobia, several good size trout, a couple jack, and a grouper. Looking forward to the next trip. Robert

On a recent vacation to SW Florida my Nephew and I took a 90 minute Nature Tour thru Matlacha Pass with Capt. Rick aboard the Miss Mattie. Just 15 minutes into our trip Capt. Rick pointed out a nest of Osprey's with two babies and their mother, he slowed down in order for us to take pictures and watch the mother fish for breakfast. We continued thru the quite waters and soon came across a group of manatees and other other local birds and wildlife including a Raccoon looking for a handout on the limb of a Mangrove bush. Capt. Rick was well informed about the area and it's natural habitat. As we began our journey back he spotted a sea turtle who seemed as interested in us as we were in him and was able to get close enough for us to take some incredible photos. Just as we were getting ready to continue on I saw several dark shadows moving thru the water, I called Capt. Rick over and he said it was a school of Stingrays, I cannot explain how amazing it was to see so much wildlife in one trip. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for something out of the ordinary or for those of you who have never seen wildlife in it's own natural environment. Capt Rick was a big part of why this was such an incredible trip, he is well informed about the local wildlife and creates a relaxing environment to sit back and enjoy the tour. He also helped us with taking photos and getting that "perfect shot". Thanks again Captain! S and N
